Ensemble is a project about working on an existing building. The old minoterie of Port Saint-Louis du Rhône which is a singular one. Being far from the city was a major concern.
Through a program taking advantage of all the existing structure (no new construction), the ambition was to create a seed of the city before the city grows toward it. A mixed program capable of growing to with empty spaces and reconfigurable ones.
The leading idea was to never alterate the existing structural integrity.
Ensemble est un projet qui travaille sur un bâtiment existant. La vieille minoterie de Port Saint-Louis du Rhône qui est un bâtiment remarquable. La distance du site avec la ville représentant un challenge majeur.
Au travers d'un programme d'appuyant sur la structure existante (aucune nouvelle construction), l'ambition est de créer une graine urbaine avant que la ville l'atteigne. C'est un programme mixte capable de s'étendre dans des espaces laissés libres ou reconfigurables pour répondre aux défis futurs.
Le cœur du projet était ici de ne jamais altérer la structure primaire.
